The Monroe Police Department maintains an active role in the community.  Below is a list of our current programs.  For more information on any program, please call the station at (203) 261-3622, or contact the department's Public Information Officer.

School Resource Officer - The department has two police officers dedicated to performing duties in the schools where they serve as  liaisons between the schools, department and students.

Community Awareness Program for Seniors (CAPS) - The department and senior citizens of the town of Monroe have formed an alliance which coordinates activities for the well-being and safety of senior citizens.


Are You OK? (RUOK?) - This service is an extension of the CAPS program. An automatic telephone dialing system phones senior citizens to check on their welfare.

Bike Patrol - There are currently two officers patrolling the town parks and business areas.

Neighborhood Watch Program - An alliance between the department and citizens of Monroe to make their neighborhoods safer.

Internet Safety - A program designed to raise the awareness of children and adults to the potential hazards of internet use.
